Replace 2016 head unit with 2017?

Replace 2016 head unit with 2017?
I can't seem to find the radio units in the online parts stores. My 2016 has developed annoying yellow spots behind the top row of icons. Only visible in daylight. I think they're something to do with the touch sensors. Anyway, I was wondering is there any reason I couldn't replace it with a 2017 or 2018 unit and gain HD radio? I know GM would have to install and program it. Can someone point me to what a new unit would cost me? Thanks.
