Default New rear speakers hit the body panel

99 vert..replaced rear speakers but they are a little too deep and hit the panel in the well by 1/2 inch. They sound much better..way more bass..any probs you see with this. The fronts dropped right in and the whole thing sounds much better..next is replacing the head unit.

A 1/2" is a ton though. Adding a spacer may cause issues with the trim panel going back on. Food for thought.

Yup..plus added insulation tape on both sides and they just hit the grills..but that shouldnt affect them..once i balanced them with the fronts and deadened the area around and in the cavity..and poly fill..they sound ok

Yeah..its not the best system..3 band parametric eq only goes so far..i put it all in because i couldnt stand the st ock bose system any more...im used to middle high end audio..ill just tear it all out and put in something real..for now im going to upgrade the suspension..have to keep upgrading or i get bored...over the winter ill start buying better stuff..hell..might as well just copy what you did..cant see doing any better..
And you know exactly how it will all work out..why reinvent the wheel..

Meh...my stuff is good...but not the best. I have learned that my sub choice was a poor one. I love the W7, but NOT in a corvette. It just doesn't work. Corvette needs shallow subs...13TW5's...or 2-3 shallow 10-12s with TONS of power. It's a rough cabin to tune around. I'm just happy that my failures can help others not make the same mistakes I have.

OY..had to open it up again..woofers were clipping..then i noticed my HU was all the way up..so my gains were too low..got pink noise going and fired up the spl meter ..and discovered the number 1 gain just spins..so cant adjust that..but i did get it balanced better..but this is crap..the interface and the woofers suck..but it will have to do for now.
Next up..suspension..shocks and sways

What kind of shocks and springs you looking for? I may have ZO6 springs, and DRM Bilsteins up for sale soon.

Heres a question..wonder if it woukd sound better if i got rid of the bose woofers and put the 5.25 from the rears up there..
And got rid of the pots module..somehow tap into the axxess harnes and run it like a regular stereo..

I'm just not a fan of anything Bose bro. I don't think there is ANY way to make Bose sound good, regardless of setup or equipment used.

I agree..ill get the rest of the season out of it then hopefully sell the stuff and put together something similar to yours..
I could probably just buy the focal front components and hook them up to the head unit and integrated amp and be happy for a while..1200.00 a bit steep but it would solve the prob..ive got about 45 rms now so it should be enough.
Then eventualy get rid of the xovers and go fully active...
Might work ?? For now..then go all out

Cant figure this out..and much research done. If i get rid if the woofers..and hookup a component system to the wiring for the 3.5s...am i done...still have to keep the bias module..but is that mucking up the sound..is a full rane signal going to the 3.5's?
If i just unplug the woofers..then it should not matter.
