There is a Tach wire on the PCM in the passenger side wheel well. I have found listing for a speed sense wire in the vette. Not every car has one.

According to DEI technical there is no speed sense (pulse) wire in the vette. Beyond that I don't know what to tell you. I checked with DEI in my own data base and with their online database. You could try calling them but I do not know if they have a retail tech support. Meaning I don't think they will tell you but it won't hurt to try.

Thank you. I’ll try calling them to see if they can help me. Also would you happen to know where the wire for the stereo is that automatically increases the volume as speed increases? I know that our stereo has that option (to increase volume as the speed increases) and I can use that wire also as a so called "speed pulse" wire.

thanks

IF there is such a wire to control that it is in the radio harness. I have never looked into that because it was my belief that is function that is internal in the radio. Please let us know if you find a wire for the volume control.

The only wires I see on the diagram that are not radio signals are on the C2 connector:

The dark green and orange wires are the communication bus and serial data. These are used for communication between the computer and the radio. I don't know the format. On my ford truck, the speed is just an analog singal, but on these GM Bose systems everything is in code.

I hooked up to the wire coming out of the differential. It was yellow. It was difficult to tap into because it was coming out of the top as I recall. I've got a 2002 vert and Alpine nav system.

I have not done this myself, but was going to suggest this route.
I do know that there is no need to re-program when adding larger wheels and tires because I think the speed is sensed at the wheel hub.

Good luck and let us know what you find
