Default FM vs DM What's the difference?

I have a modest collection of Corvette die-casts and have been picking up some of the smaller (1/24 scale) Franklin Mint models, which I find to be pretty nice.

Yet, as I scan E-Bay for Corvette models, it seems to me the typical Danbury Mint die-cast sells for much more than the similar Franklin Mint version.

Is Danbury that much better than Franklin or is something like one produces more or less than the other? I like the FM cars I've bought thus far, but can't help but wonder is Danbury is worth the additional cost (at least on Ebay)

I have both FMs & DMs and I find that the quality is better on the DMs. Here are a couple of DMs from my collection.

and the 1/24 in the middle is also a DM.

I have a bunch of both and hands down Danbury is the best out there.Retail price is on par with FM but the seconday market has the Danbury selling for more.
