Default 1:18 scale diorama garage re-do

This past summer I insulated, sheet-rocked, painted and added tile floor on the Vette bay in my garage. Of course I had to re-do my scale diorama to replicate the real garage as best I could. Hope you like. It's been a fun winter project.

The real garage:

Great detail and quite realistic. That's what dioramma's are supposed to be.

Great job.
May I ask how you were able to match the picture on the wall.

Thanks all.

I made a .pdf file of all the tin signs, banners and posters that I found on various internet sites. I sized them to scale and printed on sticky back paper. I stuck them to a thin sheet of plastic (model shop) and cut to size. I then glued to the wall.

I'd made an earlier post to you in my thread, and don't know if you saw it, but you inspired me to make this diorama. I was so impressed with yours, and how you replicated everything. The one thing I have to mention, my diorama is NOT a replica of my garage! LOL! (Wish it was!)

I don't like the cold, so I always need an indoor winter project so I don't get bored. I made measurements of my garage and made everything at 1:18 scale so my diecast Vette would fit. I made the walls and floor from 1/4" plywood. I painted model using the same paint on my walls. As described in previous thread, I scaled and made my own signs, etc. Cedar shake siding, I cut balsa wood and glued on. The tools, cans, etc I bought from various vendors on Ebay. Just search for 'diecast garage' stuff. It was a lot of fun and the kids love it at car shows.

The winter before, I made this diorama for car shows; of a car show. I cut it to fit over my battery tray in the Vette.

I was so bored that I spiked the wall art and installed two new walls on a shed. Now I can call it a garage to store two cars.
