Default WTB: Bloomington Gold License Plates

Good forum friend George Linares helped my acquire several Bloomington Gold license plates. But I don't have them all.

I have all years from 1998 forward with the exception of the following:
1999
2009
2010
2011
2013
2015
2016
2017

I would like to purchase any of the years prior to 1998 (if there are any) and the years listed above.

Please PM me or respond to this thread if you have any you are willing to sell or know where I might be able to buy them. I'd like to add them to my garagemahal wall. Many thanks.

I have 95-96-99 and several others laying around, I’ll take a look.

I used to have each year from the beginning through around 2005- I think they started in 1987? Staff used to get them every year.

Thanks for looking into it, Steve. Much appreciated.

The first year I have is 1998... so anything prior to that would be something I'd like to buy also.

Funny thing about a lot of vette people: detail oriented as we are, once we start a collection we are pretty determined to finish it. I'd love to have 'em all. I'll be going down to Indy this year, but who knows if any of the old ones will be available.

Thanks again.

I remember the first year they were issued... the collectors went nuts. I sold my set for $500 and the buyer came looking for me on the grounds every year after that.

Well, I apologize, Leigh, I took a little time today and it seems most of what I have left are years you already have.

And as I looked at them, the 95 and 96 are the last 2 I have left with my original assigned number of “81” which were impossible to get as a “car year” for the longest time. After a certain year the car year numbers were unavailable. One is the original white/blue design and the other is the red 25th anniversary design, so I’m not looking to sell them. I guess that’s why I still had them! I’m sorry.

I do have the 1999 available if you want it. $25 plus $5 shipping. Here’s a pic... it’s the “Zora” design.

Thanks so much, Steve. Though I enjoy digging through the garage, not everyone does. I know what you mean about not wanting to part with the car years. George was kind enough to send me a couple 75's -- at the time I had a 75. Those are special. What a good guy!

I'm hopeful I can get a bulk purchase price for all the ones I'm missing, if I can get to the right guy. If you don't mind I'd like to hold off on the 99 for now, to see if I can drum up a few together. Is it alright if I keep you in mind on that one?

By the way, I'd have definitely taken $500 for some plates; that's crazy. I do like them very much, but $500 would probably get my whole set and then some.

Thanks again.

The past few years they did have the expired plates for sale in the official bloomington store ground level under one of the pit suites.
