I have the Ultra-Shield Delux Pro Road race. Works great. I hear there are some new 3-2-3 belts to accomidate the Hans. The belt is 2" wide to secure the Hans to your shoulders.

72 pages!! Talk about being overkill. Just trying to avoid being sued.

"Madam, you're asking this jury to award you 17 billion dollars for the loss of your late husband? Did he read the Hans instruction manual? It appears he installed it backwards!"

"Why, no he never finished it. He said he was waiting for the movie."

Look, just get some shoulder straps w/a sternum latch. They work great. They keep the straps centered on your chest and properly located over the HANS.

that's a-hole nother argument.
they say the sternum strap will catch your throat in a crash.

it's too bad this industry can't get together and decide what is right and wrong with saftey equipment.

but anyway, any true race seat should work with a HANS.

A true race seat is a kirkey, or a butler, or similiar.

I have seen those "race seats" that recline. It's amazing they get away with calling them race seats; when they should be calling them sport seats, or something similiar.

did you go visit my car yesterday !! ?

I tried a lot of seats at SEMA and found that holes for the shoulder traps are to low . I'm 5'11 and with the Hans on the belts end up pushing me down in the seat .

and all that does is COMPRESS your spine & Herniates the discs in your spine.

Me personally, I would not install belts lower than shoulder height.

now I know that may cause my head to smash the roof if I flip the car. But the chances are if I crash, I am not flipping the car.

so I choose NOT to herniate my disks every time I strap in. and I went about 2" over shoulder height with my cross bar. It might be a tad too high, but I'm not racing, so it's perfectly fine by my rules and regulations

also, if you go to the SFI website, they will also say - level or an upwards angle with the belts, never a downwards angle.....

according to Schroth:

"3.4 Webbing routing on HANS®

Shoulder belts on Head and Neck Support must route horizontally or not more than 20° down from the rear edge of Head and Neck Support to its anchor point. The inner edge of the webbing must be firmly in contact with the beginning of the Head and Neck Support collar to the yokes (see Photo below)."

We like the Racetech and Cobra one piece Race seats. All of them that we currently stock are comming with a provision in the seat back to better accomodate the HANS device with out pushing you forward like the stock seat does. They range in price from $275 and up, but the better quality, better supportive and safer seats are more in the mid $500 to $800 range. The Cobra Seat that is in my race car is rated for surviving a 45 G impact without a rear seat support (with the average 160lb driver). I figure that this seat and a HANS device with quality belts properly mounted makes my sport of choice as safe as it can be for me. I'm not so sure about yours, but my life is definately worth a few thousand $$$ in safety gear (Helmet, Hans, Seat, Belts, Fire system and Roll Cage).

While we are on the subject...

MSI is now a HANS authorized Dealer. We are offering an introductory deal on the first 10 units sold. So far 3 are committed, so that leaves 7 units available. Please call 916-784-2323 or email me at mark@motorsportimage.com for "The Deal" as I am not allowed to post the special prices online.

If any of you have checked around, there just are not many "Deals" on HANS devices. Probably because they don't offer dealers very big discounts and there isn't much room to move on price.

Get one before they go up to the normal price
