Default Thumbs Up SCDA Limerock

Great job by SCDA today at limerock.

They had an advance drivers day there today and it was one of the best days I had at the track. All the drivers were great. Funny there was no mandatory point bys today, but I got more than I did a few weeks ago. Just shows that it is not always the track which makes it a good event, but it is the drivers attitudes when they are on and off the track.

Good to See Jim and John again too. Figure Jim will get this in a few hours, but John should be home by now.

Oh BTW Jim for a 10 min rotor change.

Weather was good and a great group of drivers, what a day.

I got home a little before 9:00 as we stopped for a bite to eat on the way.

Jim should still be sleeping as he had the long haul home, talk about a day of driving.

Great day at Lime Rock.....good people, great weather.

I got home at 12am. Bridge construction on 495 slowed me down a bit....and then at 945pm, just short of Amesbury, MA, BOOM!!!....flat tire on the trailer.

Got that fixed, and the remainder of the ride was uneventful.

Good to see you guys again.

Wow I guess that was the 3rd thing to break - Your Rotor, My Trailer handle, and your trailer Tire. I guess I need to add a spare to my list of MORE THINGS TO BUY...

A spare tire is a MUST for any trailer.....and a strong bottle jack that will lift the car AND trailer. My jack is 12 ton....

Good idea, I always figured I would use my car jack but I am not sure it would be adequate.
SCDA always does a good event. I wish I was there but I am getting married this weekend, so I am working 2 jobs right now! I'll see you all at NHIS!

Ok, then I won't tell you about my new tool to set toe easily....

Thanks, I told her that she could not drive my C6Z unless she did a school. She did, and passed the blond in the Red Maserati with her Honda and Bruce Allen said she did well and so she has her own set of keys for it now.

No it was all good. She would give point bys and stayed on her line so I never felt in any danger of body damage even when passing her on the inside of turn 1.

It was unique for an SCDA event, because it was an OPEN practice....meaning pass anywhere at anytime.

Point by's were recommended.....but not required. Everyone paid attention out there, and it was a lot of fun. Running 2 wide through Big Bend......

Bill Prout was running the show....don't know where Ian was.

I got more Point bys here then I did at the mandatory point by at Pocono

I think this was very close to wheel to wheel racing without being timed thus less chance of damage.

That is funny! I just sent it to her! I understand that there is version of Playboy for married men...same centerfold every month! Anyway see you all at the next SCDA NHIS event. I might have my new calipers on by then, but then again, I guess I won't. I do have new pads (Porterfield R43/Wilwood H) for the stock calipers and the new Rev 2 rotors to test as well as the DRM brakes lines.

I saw the Maserati and the silver ZO6 on the way home on the Mass Pike, they both had MA plates on the car.

So Gary you get married and then have to work two jobs. I say get the wife working and you stay home and play with the car.

Now we need to get Bob to come up to NHIS and play sometime.

See everyone in a few weeks at NHIS.

The 2 jobs are: getting ready for the wedding and Hardbar! She does pretty well, wants to trade her Accord in on CTS-V. My partner on the brake project (www.lemd.com) will install my new calipers and revised rotors on the C6Z while I am gone on the Honeymoon! The calipers have 21 mm thick pads and I will try them in PFC 97 and 05 compounds. I can't wait to try it since I had practically no brakes last event!
