It looks like they moved the ALMS race to the following weekend!!!! I'd like to come instruct and run. I currently instruct with NASA. They have been known to see me use rental cars (Neon or G6, thanks Enterprise) or my C5.

Tom,

Does VIR or NCM offer any insurance a student can purchase for this event to insure against total loss of a student vehicle while on track? I would like to get something on a per event basis, since I don't plan to do very many HPDE's. There is only 1 place I know to get total loss insurance that applies to HPDE, and is applicable for a year at cost that is steep if you are only doing 1 event.

Thanks,

Andy

VIR nor the NCM are in the insurance business.

Check your personal auto insuracne policy for 'exlusions.'

At one time Ameican Collectors Insurance offered insurance for DEs.

American Collectors is the one. VIR shouldn't be in the insurance business but I thought might contract through American Collectors.

All the standard auto policies (and yeah, I checked my wording) exclude HPDE's now. Language varies, but they all have the same idea (varies by state--might just me MD where I live--but I can't move just to fix that!!)

Let me know if anything changes!

BRING LOTS AND LOTS OF TIRES, BRAKES AND $$$$$$$$

They may have cancelled. Our talks with the track managment indicate that VIR CLub Memebers are there. May be one is north the other is south course.

I get exhausted after three days on track.

Tom, since the track is larger, the run groups will be a little larger on VIR, won't they?

That means more people can attend, huh?

YES. We will put 35 cars per run group vs 22 at CMP We still like good spacing, and not packing cars on track.

Some clubs will put 40 to 50 cars on VIR Full, not us.

We use the 10-13 car / mile guide. This also give us some wiggle room to move some one up or down a run group without crowding.
