acp hood and tigershark frt for heat issues
Installed ACP air extractor hood and starcraft tigershark front to combat engine heat issues. Running sc blower on rr track hoping to lower oil/coolant temps. Also have installed Dewitts raditor and ECS alky kit. Will report back after I hit the track next week. Around turn temps generally seem approx 10 degrees lower.
note: pictured wheels are street set up only (track are ccw corsairs w pilot sport cups)

Awesome setup! I'm running the TS facia, DRM heat extractor hood, and a Dewitts racing radiator w/ left side oil cooler also. Great look and really lets air flow through well.

Thanks guys. Mike and I will be out Weds at the Autobahn. Looking forward to seeing what the oil/coolant temps are really like with the new set up.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

problem solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hit the track yesterday. 87 degrees, humid. With new front and extractor hood the car, never got above 262 degrees even after 30 minute hard sessions. One additional tweak I did which lowered the oil/coolant temp about 8 degrees (see pic below). I removed the foam insulation strip that runs near the windshield to keep the end of the hood sealed(so water won't get in the engine bay). This seal doesn't allow heat to escape out of the rear of the engine bay.
Removing this seal immediately improved cooling signficantly. As for any water getting into the engine bay, that's a small price to pay with a ventilated hood.
Bottom line: I can now fully enjoy the car on the track!!

Don't get fooled if you smell exhaust with the weatherstrip off when you use the HVAC on the street. I took my stripping off years ago and thought I had a header leak, as I smelled exhaust when I used the HVAC , the HVAC must suck fresh air from the base of the windshield. When I put the stripping back on last month, the exhaust problem went away. The exhaust smell was only detectable when stopped at redlights with windows up and air on the NONreccirc mode. I used to not drive the vette on hot days when I needed AC it was so annoying, then one day last month I mentioned the problem to a wiser fellow who took one look at the lack of weatherstrip and said there's your exhust smell.... .......still learning everday...
