I was a good time overall but I am embarrassed to say I got beat by an EVO.

I let the Corvette name down...

Oh well, I beat him at Mid-Ohio and will do so again next month.

And at least I didn't go into the Armco

Wow, that was an incredible weekend. Grattan may be my new favorite track. It sounds like the NASA guys are wanting to go back. That track just simply had it all in terms of variety.

Nice to meet you guys there, and big thanks for the oil!!! She went though 3.5 quarts in 7 sessions. Ouch...yet worth it.

Default Great Time Here Too

I had a great time too running in the HPDE. Lots of fun, especially the 45 minute session at the end of Sunday. Thanks Group 4 guys for canceling your last session. That allowed NASA to throw group 1/2 out with group 3 for a 45 minute session (there were only 3 cars in group 3 left). The NASA guys appreciated it because it allowed everyone to go home early.

Looks like I'll miss the NASA event at Mid-Ohio. I already have another track day scheduled for that weekend at Gingerman. This is a makeup event for one that was snowed out in April.

SR71, were you the silver or yellow Z06? I'm just trying to put some faces with forum names.

I had the silver Z06. I believe we talked for a brief minute about if your front wheels rub on your brake ducts. (I was asking because I tried it once while the car was up on ramps and they seemed to rub a lot on the duct hose/duct exit. I'll have to try it again.)

I don't think that was me, but I kept intending to get over there and say hi. FWIW my DRM ducts only rub at full lock but the hose is showing wear. I believe Randy himself told me that the hoses are to be considered wear items.

Oh... I presumed based on your screen name that you had the silver Z06 up in the paved top paddock next to the Mustang with radiator problems. I guess not.... The gentlemen I talked with there had the stock Z06 rear wheels up on the front. When I tried that, I couldn't turn my wheel very far before they hit. My ducts might be too far forward.

Which car were you?

The #5 coupe in HPDE3. I have Z06 wheels up front with DRM ducts as well. I had to move my ducts a couple of times before they fit well for street work.

Oh.... Ok. I thought you were the number 405 car. I know which car was yours now. I don't think I met too many of the other Corvette drivers. I was off in my own little world by the GTO.

I'll definately look into moving the ducts for more clearance with wider wheels. Thanks for the tip.

Dan, you should have moved over by us, near the gas pumps.

i didn't realize you were out in left field until we walked by Sunday afternoon...

Look us up at M-O.

We're getting quite a crew, pretty soon people won't know whether to stop by the BPK camp or the Spectator racing party trailier!

There didn't seem to be a lot of room over by you guys and I needed a little extra space as I was camping there Saturday night. Maybe next time.

It sounds like there is a big group going to Mid Ohio next month. It should be fun for you guys. I'm not sure I will be able to swing down as I'll be at Gingerman on Saturday. Maybe I could come down for Sunday. We'll see how tired I am.

Time to get the car ready for the next event.... (Lately, it seems that it spends more time up on jackstands than it does on the ground.)
