Which SS brake lines to install? please suggest
So I am working on the 1994 Vette ZF6. It is mostly stock but I am starting to make some modifications to make it handle better and safer.
I will be changing the master cylinder and while I am at it I might as well install SS brake lines.
Please let me know which brand would you recomend or stay away from.
I have read that some companies will make their lines shorter in order to fit more aplications at a time.
I really need lines that will perform as expected from this kind of material and that will be installed easily without adaptations.
Like if it was OEM.
I have seen that G-stop, Russell and Earl's have kits for a 94 Vette, but would like to know suggestions, any brands.

I like the fittings on the Goodridge lines. To short of a line would be bad but so would to long, it would rub on the wheel. But even with a stock line you must check for that anyways. You may want to put the DRM brake bias spring in while you have the master out, I did. dougrippie.com has a nice price on the spring.

I like the Goodridge lines too. Some of the Earl's lines caused ABS issues with some C5s...which I was running at the time. I switched to the Goodridge and have had no more issues.
However, I did run Earls lines on my 89 vette for 7 years without any problems.
OBTW, I do like the -AN fittings as opposed to the "banjo" ones. I don't know that it actually makes any difference or not, but the -AN fittings just seem to be more efficient in design.

StopTech lines on my C5. Consider them if you can get them for your C4. Well built, good fit, no leaks. The SS part is covered with Teflon jacket to pretect it. The ends have a hard plastic boot around them so they don't bend or twist. They come with new bolts and crush washers. They cost more than the other ones. About $150.

Another vote for Goodridge lines.
I had them on my previous 94 for several years with no problems.
I have a set to go on my current 94, but have not installed them yet.

They are about 1" longer than stock, which helps avoid tension on the rears at full extension (as when on jackstands with wheels off).

BTW, what MC are you going with? I'm in the process of installing a MC from a 3/4 ton PU with a 1 1/4" bore.

I thought that going to a bigger MC would be a great solution, but apparently it would be better to install different and better calipers, brake pads and rotors.

Russell lines caused traction control problems on my C5 throwing codes related to wheel speed sensor. After much trial and error replaced with Goodridge and all is good. Pun intended.

I must have misread (misscanned) the thread. I was under the impression the failure was caused by the lines being too short which causing a kink in the crimp at full lock.
My own personal experience with Goodridge: I had them on my previous 94 for several years with no problems.
I have a set to go on my current 94, but have not installed them yet. I have no hesitation in installing another set of Goodridge on a C4.
If and when I decide to put a set on my C5, I'll look into any potential problems with that application.
