Default C4 parking brake boot melting.

I just thought I'd pass this on. There was enough heat in the rear to melt the parking brake dust boot on my car. I had not tried to use the parking brake for awhile but I recently did and got stuck. The parking brake would not release, and the car would not move forward. I moved the brake handle on and off a bunch and it let go. Today I took a look and there is a rubber cover over the parking brake cable right behind the caliper. It totally melted into goo. I have it stuck on my hands like silicone caulk. It must have got into the cable sheath and jammed it. Just a note to take a look at it when you work on the car, it's behind the caliper so isn't always noticed. I'll post this in C4 tech. to.

Default

I melted the ABS wire harness that crosses over the rear.
I had to buy high temp wire harness material.

I suspect the exhaust temps were very high for some reason.
