Default Anyone w/ a texas rollback? Any downsides?

After seeing one in operation at VIR this weekend my father and I are leaning this way for a car trailer.

Looks very easy, is light, etc.

Any downsides? Anyone use one?

None, best open trailer I've ever used. Got 4 years and probably 30-40k miles on ours before selling it. They are well built, and the mechanism makes all other trailers seem stoneaged.

Brian... was it the one with the white rx7 on it? That's my buddy and he LOVES the trailer. One of these days i'll pick one up myself.

^ No... my dad's instructor had his wifes C6 on one. I was going to get an 18-ft open deck econo-trailer once my ski sells. However, after seeing the rollback, and also seeing my buddy Rich smash his CF splitter on his C6Z loading his... we're leaning toward ease of the rollback.

Actually, cost is the biggest downside to them. But they will give you many good years of service.

^ Oh well... you get what you pay for... and it should depreciate less.

Hey - this is Rich's Instructor - I used to sell them up here in Quantico...great trailers and great build-quality. Ordering them can mean a long long wait though, look for a dealer ANYWHERE that has what you want and get it delivered. BTW, they have steel too, not just alum. (not sure what you saw).

Was there real damage to Rich's car?

We've found a few dealers wanting to deal... it'll be a weekend trip to get it, but worth it if we go this route.

Yeah... Rich's fancy MTI CF lip was cracked all the way though. He didn't jack the back of the truck/trailer up w/ the trailer jack. When he came off the wooden ramps the trailer shifted and he no longer had enough clearance.

He nose dived into the back of the trailer.... it was bad. Happened too quick to tell him to stop.

I have the sloan quick load and really like the ease of it. Their near identical ; steel or alum and about 1000 cheaper.

I just picked one up and used it for the first time last weekend. It makes loading/unloading a breeze. Highly recommended!

I have the Sloan Kwik Load ...good trailer and I would recommend it.
Anyone put a tire rack on one of these (or the TX rollback) and can you send me pics if you have.

I heard sloan an texas rollback owners used to be together then the owners split and opened seperate companies. They're located in the same place.

We'll see... thanks for the input.
