Default Are Napa Brake Pads Worth The Money

It would be so easy to pick up NAPA brake pads when I buy the rotors are they worth the money if your doing HPDE? I know a lot of guys buy Hawk or something else but is all of this just hype? I can live with 10% less brake force for 50% less money, but I can't live with 50% less brake force.

How many HPDE's have you done and at what tracks?

I have two NASA events under my belt so far this year, Grattan and Mid Ohio. The next one I'm doing is at Nelson Ledges and I need to freshen up the brakes and tires on the Z06 before I go. Sounds like I have the answer to my question. Thanks guys.

Your OE Z06 pads are already a step above the NAPA pads, at least. I understand the importance of saving $$$, but the HP+ pads aren't that much more than OE (esp. if you got Z06 OE pads), and they'll end up being cheaper because they won't crumble under the heat.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

Hopefully BeerKat will chime in. He tried this route at CMP a month back and the pads only lasted one day.

Here is a couple pics that I took at the track after 4 low speed event runs. Sorry the pics are not the best BUT you can see that ALOT of the brake pad is on the wheels!

I ran the NAPA pads for awhile this season. At a track like Roebling Road where you only have two spot of braking they work fine. When I ran at CMP this past July new NAPA pads lasted almost to sessions. Everyone commented on what a nice red ring of fire my brakes displayed when I tried slowing for turn one. Go with Carbotech you will feel the difference.
