It's amazing how a little bad press will create terrific (fire) sales.

If you like Kuhmo's and can manage the splits this is a good deal...while supplies last.

The split on the 710's is across the tread not the sidewall. It is caused by spinning the tires or locking the brakes. If you see the seam start to open you can ignore it with no problems or you can reverse the rotation of the tire (change the wheel side to side) and it will seal back over.
I have never seen a problem with the 710's after the original recall years ago. I would be very curious to know if any one has had any real problems with them other than the seam showing which is not realy a problem.
I would guess the mark down is due to overstocking or a new compound is on the way. If you notice the mark down is only on the least common sizes right now.
I will make some calls tomorrow and see if I can find any thing out.

You don't think it had anything to do with this?

No I dont or else I would think the 315's and all their other sizes would be on special also. Tirerack does not order many 335's at one time now due to lack of sales in comparasion to other sizes. I may be very wrong I will call my guy at Tirerack and find out. I am very curious because we use the 335's on the rear of all our setups and I have had problems getting them and the 315-18's in the past.

Thanks for the post. Between my buddies and I, we ordered 12 tires.
