TOYO Proxes R888

I have a new set (315/335) just mounted on CCW's for my 02 Z06 and will run them for the first time at Motor Sports Ranch on Sep 9. Previous tires were V710's, so I'll report experience/difference after the MSR event.

From what I've read about them (NO personal experience with them), I would expect them to be a little better than the Toyo RA-1s, but not as good as the Kumho V710s. They should last longer than the V710s, but not give the same level of performance.

245/40r18 and 295/30r19. http://marktg.toyotires.com/file/30029.pdf
They also have a 255/35r18 which keeps the F:R diameter a bit closer to stock. Still feels like too little tire up front.

Burning Brakes
I used them a few weeks ago for the first time. I have little to compare to other than the OEM's but they seemed to be pretty amazing.
The wear was pretty good and the grip was unbeleivable.

Finally had a chance to run the R888's at MSR. Less overall grip than the V710, but not too far off (I did not shave them, looking for max life for HPDE rather than max grip). They give more warning when approaching the limit so the car is a bit easier to drive and a bit more tossable in the tight corners (they seem to tolerate a somewhat larger slip angle), as long as the track is dry - any dampness and they suck, so any thoughts of using them as a rain tire should be discarded. Transitional response was good (315F/335R) as was stead-state cornering, and wear is minimal after 8-20 minute sessions. I'd say they're good track day tires but probably not as good as the V710 and certainly not as good as Hoosier A6's (which of course don't last nearly as long) - haven't run R6's so can't comment on that comparison.
