Default The die is cast……

And the entrant list is finalized for the NASA National Championships next week at Mid-Ohio.

We have practice on Thursday and qualifying races on Friday and Saturday to determine starting positions for Sunday’s Championship race.

In our race group will be Super Touring 1 & 2, Super Unlimited, Performance Touring A, B & C. That totals 54 cars.

The fun of NASA fields is the variety we race against. 8.7 #’s per 1 HP is the criteria. So those cars with less HP just add as much lightness as necessary to make the cut.

Here is the entrant list of Super Touring 2 showing the diversity in our ST2 class. I’ve raced against the FF Cobras a bunch and they are bad to the bone, and they’re driven by “Take No Prisoners” drivers who know how to get in front. I raced against the Caddy CTS-V and that thing is fast. It’s an ex-Grand Am car.

Jody Austin Troutman NC - Chevrolet Corvette Z06
David Beatie Visalia CA - Mazda RX7
Team Boothman/Eves Naples FL - Factory Five Challenge Racer
Tony Buffomante Perry Hall MD - Factory Five Challenge Racer
Brian Cates Broad Run VA - Factory Five Challenge Car
Anthony DeLuca Redding CT - Mitsubishi EVO
Tom Dragoun Bakersfield CA - MAZDA RX7
James Forbis Cincinnati OH - Chevrolet Corvette
Devin Gregory Redding CT - Subaru Sti
Robert Holland Denver CO - Dodge SRT4
Paul Kaiser Troutville VA - Cadillac CTS-V
Patrick Lindsey Jersey City NJ - Audi S4
Rudy Orawiec Venetia PA - Chevrolet Corvette
Bob Stebbins Exeter CA - Mazda RX7
James Stinehelfer Tecumseh KS - Mazda Miata
James Wagaman Chatsworth CA - Mazda RX7
Richard Wilson Hilton NY - Chevrolet Corvette

Danny (Raftracer) is in Super Touring 1, and he has a formidable list of guys to race against, and, barring mechanical issues, I look for him to finish on the podium.

I’ve got my car prepped and just finished loading it on the trailer. I’ll finish packing everything else tomorrow and Monday and then Cass (TCMC5) and I will take off Wednesday.

For those interested, there will be a live webcast from the finish line flag stand on the pit straight at Mid Ohio for the duration of Sunday’s Championship races at www.speedcastproductions.com.

BTW, wish you were going with us Wallyman!

I need to order two cases of that lightness pronto!

The Miata I am racing would need to weigh around 300# to make the grade!

Congratulations and good luck!

I already have mechanical issues.......I'll be putting my transmission back in today, and thrashing on the car 'til Wednesday when I leave...

Look forward to hanging out with you and Cass again, Jody....always entertaining...

I saw James had a garage, are you in there with him? We'll be up in the grass, come on up if you get a chance.

I hope you get everything sorted out, I can't wait to see you run. If you need anything I've got that'll help you, just let me know.

Falcon, Thanks for the offer. We'll 'git er done, its just been a little rough, I have had a nasty respiratory /sinus infection all week and I'm just starting to get back to normal.....I still had to work even though I should have been home, working on Jesse, Dave Mullen and Jeff Moser's cars..... they wont postpone the event

We are a little behind, but should be there sometime Wednesday afternoon evening.

Our buddy James will unfortuneatly not be racing, he had some things come up that he had to tend to......He should come up for Saturday and Sunday though.

It's going to be busy , trying to do TTU and ST1 again

Not only that, there maybe a 4 - 5 sec lap difference between the SU and PTC guys.

You all run well and keep your tires on the track. Be safe and come home in the same shape as you went. Hope you all get to stand on the podium.

we are still putting my car back together. I had a big off at Nashville last weekend and tore up the front of the car. I didn't think we could put it back together in time. A big thanks to Kerry Hitt (ACP) for building a new nose for the C5 and overnighting to me. We've put on a new nose, splitter, radiator, airbox etc. They are putting an alignment back on it today and then we're off.
This should be a great group..and in ST1 Danny appears to be the class of the field based on his last time of 1:28 . But to finish first..you first have to finish!!! It should be an interesting race.
Jody, Danny....see you guys wed. night. Ed & I have the same garage as last year.

Yeah, that stinks about 4Bis not making it. He coulda been a contender! Although I guess I'm not too broken up about moving up a postion in TTS. I could use that Hankook money.

Damn! Don't you ever stay home on the weekends?

See y'all there Wednesday. We'll be up there in the tall grass.
