Default Ap Racing Brake Calipers

Folks,

Who out there is using AP Racing Calipers on their C5 or C6 in either a car set up for racing or frequent HPDE? (I have a C6) Care to share your experience?

Which AP caliper are you using? Front and Rear? Parking brake issue?
Did you need to modify anything to Fit?
Which Rotors (size,slotted, Drilled)
Which pads do you use?
What kind of wheels do you run for clearance? Need any spacers?
Where'd you buy them?

Thanks for your time. I am all ears

Regards

Simon

AP Racing are just about the best brakes you can buy. Just buy a kit that is specified for a C5 or C6. Usually the CP 5555 caliper is used for their street kits. Uses any of three pads available depending on the depth of the swept area of the rotor being used. There is one with 46mm, 51mm and 54mm depth. My rotor uses the 51mm one.

The calipers are big so some wheels won't fit. Z06 rears fit easy. Fronts won't because need 18" wheels for the 14" rotors. I don't have a replica Z06 18x9.5" to try. Mallett 396 wheels fit easy. Fiske wheels fit if designed for it, usually with a spacer. Wheels with lips likely won't fit. CCW classic wheels probably don't fit unless used with special spacer from CCW. CCW Corsair wheels would fit easy.

C6 Z06 wheels likely would fit because they fit over the stock calipers which are large. Only problem with them is the 19" rear wheels.

My 2 cents? Go with DRM... great company, and Randy is great to work with... He's told me several times about the quality of AP brakes, but I dont have the money right now (I only have 2 cents). Do let us all know how it turns out!

The C6R uses AP stuff.

Most regard AP as some of the best brake products available. Not cheap though.

Have the AP's , with PFC 01's along with the DRM bias adjuster. gr8 kit, Z06 rears fit well, this has been the best and most trouble free thing have done to the car, ( get about 1 year out of the pads ) rotors more than that ,
