Pfadt Racing - coil over and C6 Z06 shock mount abuse test
Hi All,
There has been a lot of discussion about coil overs on C6 Z06's after Just J's accident. And along with all of this discussion there has been a lot of outright and implied blame placed on our coil overs since, of course, ours were on the car.
Our engineering is solid. The mounts of the Z06 are solid.
Here's the video of our coil overs running over a rail road tie simulating as closely as "humanly possible" the simulation of Just J's incident.:

I stated before in an earlier post that turning an accident into a brand battle was an exercise in stupidity. Driving a Corvette over a railroad tie at 30 mph is the culmination of that stupidity.

I'm not sure what coilovers really have to do with that.

This little pissin contest has really gotten rediculous. It's obvious that both companies in question make a very nice product that will outperform most drivers capabilities. Who gives a damn if either one fails if you run over a friggin railroad tie.
It's not like the engineers were sitting around one night discussing how to make them nuclear bomb proof. My bet is that most of the guys that buy these units:
A. Really don't need them.
B. Have no idea how to use them as designed.
C. Don't even track their cars.

I don't need to be a pro-racer and on a track to to know that coilovers were the best modification I ever did to my corvette. Well, besides the skip-shift delete.
I do agree that the vendor B.S. has to stop though. Too much commercialism.
