Default A6s vs. V710s and ABS Applies Brakes!

Anybody ever have this happen?
A friend has a 2000 C5 running V710s on 17" ZR1 wheels. 275s front and 315s rear. Then changed to 295s front. While testing tires on the street and slowly getting up to 25-30mph, DIC indicated "ABS active" and brakes are applied w/o putting foot on brake pedal! car is pulled over to shoulder, light goes out, driver pulls out again, ABS again kicks in and brakes the car. All this happens w/o a foot on the barake pedal. Dry road, no hot ******* and AH is ON.
got discusted. Took off v710s. Put strreet tires back on ABS issues go away. What's up?

I run 295s and 315s in hoosier and have no ABS issues.

I run V710 315's on all four corners, but always turn traction control off when they are on. That being said I never had any ABS lights come on while cruising around, at an auto-x, or on the track unless it on because my foots into it.

Not sure if it's making a difference here but the Kumho 295 is a taller tire than the 295 Hoosier. That's why most autox'rs who use Kumho stick with the 275 for the front. FWIW.

The V710 295s are taller than 315R17s by a fair amount. That is why it is happening. Hoosier's 295 is not as tall as the V710 version. The hoosier 295 and 315 are closer in diameter.

If you are going to use a V710 295 you need an equal or taller rear tire like the V710 315R18 tire or another 295R17.

What he is seeing is the Traction Control active message. Those tires will cause that message to be triggered almost instantly.
