What extra parts do you think they'll try to sell you?
I've done it many times. It used to be Jack French that you wanted to ask for, but he's gone. I think it's a guy named Ramon now. Also very experienced.
Take the time to discuss exactly how you use the car. They will help you pick the best setting for your needs. You might want to get shock dyno sheets, too. But I think that does cost extra...can't remember.

Facts of Bilstein revalving shocks
Bilstein offers a dyno service for 25 dollars per shock.
Jack French passed away around last November.
Ramon was Jack's right hand man for years.
C4 FX3 shocks it seems everytime they replace the shafts $$$$, they don't do it for fun and to make some extra cash. They install new shafts because there is a internal seal that goes bad. Even the revalved-rebuilt shocks have the life time warrenty.
Rush service is 35 dollars a shock for a 1-2 day turn around time. (great thing for this time of the year)
Just some clearing up, from a long time Bilstein user

Melting Slicks
I talked to both Jack and Ramon when I had mine done two years ago. It seemed like Jack set things up on the phone and then Ramon made it happen. As Randy says I had to have the shafts replaced.
Sorry to hear about Jack. He took the time to make sure I got what was right for the way I use the car.
By the way Randy, you never called me back about the engine we were talking about.......

Depends on mileage and roads you drive on my stock Bilsteins were beat up and the rubber bump stops busted at 40,000. My car was not slammed either. Carroll Shelby said in his book a bad shock is hard even for a good race car driver to detect. I put Bilsteins on my Excursion at 9,000 and it was a huge difference. On my dooley at 50,000 and I was in heaven. Bad shocks kind of creep up on you slowly so it may be hard to feel. You can pull them and look for damage or leaks and crudely feel compression and reboud by hand.
