Default Fellas the new ACR Viper is no joke...

Just got back from Viperdays... a Dodge designer was there w/ an amazing black '09 Hemi Ram that isn't even out yet, I'd never seen pics of it. What was even more impressive was the Black on Black ACR Viper he had in tow. He was running 2:04s on VIR full w/ the factory aero setup and the stock Pilot Cup Sports.

For comparison my buddy John's GT1 Viper was running 2:06s on race tires w/ 540 rwhp.

Watching the two of them blow by me in the slow-azz Panoz leading into the uphill Ss was truly amazing.

I guess we'll have to see what a driver can do in the car - since a stock c5z with race tires and good driver (i.e. not me) can run 2:06. Regardless - that's pretty impressive for straight out of the box...

Eh... I've never seen a truly stock one come close to that... we know T1 cars can do it and I know my buddy Chris Driver was running 2:08s but he had headers etc. But that's with great conditions... yesterday was anything but.

For the Viper race yesterday the Comp Coupes were turning 1:58s as a good lap. The track was incredibly greasy... a vette wasn't going to run those types of times w/ yesterday's track.

The GT1 Vipers typically run around 2 flat and the comp couopes in the 1:55 range I believe.

Gotcha - track conditions do play a big role in it.

Chris (RedLS6 on here) has been turning 2:08- laps and I don't think he even changed the stock paper air filter...pads and tires only. Last week he was working on convincing his wife that an ACR would make a great addition...

We all know Bugeater is a bit on the crazy side too. isn't 2:06 for John a bit on the slow side ?? I though he was down in the 2:03-04 times when he was Game ON.

When I saw that I thought it might be Ralph.

He'll be out with that ACR this Friday at Grattan.

BTW the head porter is Jeff Morys, not Jeff Mory.

I knew that ACR was real after spending a week with it in May. On PS2's (Or at least the ACR's version of PS2's) that car ran a 2:00.9 flying lap.

Now it did have exhaust and intake work, still that's freakin moving.

I turned a high 2:11 with Run Flats last year with just Carbotech pads on the stock Run Flats, I don't see how a stock C6 can't get into 2:07s with a real set of tires

It's almost like you need a separate manufacturer, like Saleen, to keep American supercars in production.

Look at the FordGT, finally raced after after it goes out of production.

all super cars may be doomed if the EU reg's go into effect and SUV's also.

Actually, I did change the air filter. I put on a new stock paper filter from Autozone

The ACR on race rubber is going to be unreal. I kinda like the wing too.

I got it to run a 2:21 w/ a failing fuel pump... she has 2:19s in her as shes setup but Ill never find out. Were upping it to 400ish HP via heads/cam/carb conversion (currently EFI) and putting the GTS suspension under it. Currently its soft, understeers, and has 250 crank ponies But... even with that it was so much fun to obliterate some Vipers in the turns. The car is really great under braking and turning.
