Default Tire pressure question for HPDE

Just ran grattan with my c5 and found I had some understeer. I was running stock pressure of about 32 all the way around. What would be the best tire pressure to run for Pilot Sport A/S? These are the low profile 20/19 combination.

I always put 2lb extra in the front to reduce understeer when running my C5, but I was using the runflats. I ran 3lb higher in my C4 which had more understeer than my C5 and no runflats.

If you are having an understeer problem, adding more air to the front will make it worse. Try adding 2 more to the rear and going slightly slower on your entry speed... You always stiffen the end of a car that you wish to slide..

Street tires have a much softer sidewall than competition tires and require more air pressure to compensate for this and keep them from 'rolling over'. Typically you should run 4-6psi over recommended pressures and adjust from there.

A modern high performance tires dont roll over like soft tires on a Lincoln. People read too many articles online. Stick some chalk on the side and see how far you wear down to

Are you suggesting that a street Michelin has just as stiff a sidewall as a DOT track tire?

Anyone who has mounted race tires on wheels knows the difference for sure....

You should pump the tires to the max on the sidewall and decrease the fronts by 2 pounds and see what happens..

The chalk is also a good idea

I still think you may need to slow your entry

If you are being outrun by other similar vettes, you might ask how much negative camber they are running
