Vir Lap Times
I was trying to compare lap times on R compound tires to the stock Run Flats.
With a stock C5 I would love to hear anyone’s lowest lap times with the EMT’s
Thanks

Back when I had a C5... on full course when I was willing to punish the EMTs - 2:10s in my '99 FRC, 2:11s in the '01 Coupe, 2:05s/2:07s with Hoosiers mounted up.
Both cars very close to bone stock.
The Coupe was heavier & they changed the gearing slightly to end up with same final but different individuals, plus my FRC was one of the first out and I was told by Corvette Program Mgr. (HC) that the early FRCs had way more HP & Tq than specified - when put on a dyno - and I had a very early release car.
The EMTs pretty much suck in the dry but they are incredible in the wet!

Don't expect to be able to duplicate what cgh1 did. Chuck knows what he's doing and it's his home track.
I have never run on the original runflats but I'm probably the only guy that runs a completely bone stock 2000 C5 coupe on street tires. I think my best is about 2:17 on Firestone wide ovals. Not very sticky tires.

Yeah, I probably should mention that I have literally thousands of laps at VIR, so you could say that I know my way around...
As well - if there's a mistake to be made there, I've probably made it; more than once

I am not that crazy I just wanted to know what is possible with a top driver. I have a long way to go. My best 2:20. I only try to increase speed with very small increments.
Thanks again you were a great classroom instructor I look forward to next year.
