Default Eligibility for Rolex Vintage Fest @ Lime Rock

Can someone tell me what the newest Corvette is that can be raced at the RVF ?

Thinking of getting a C2 or C3 race car to run at LRP and other vintage races

Thanks

Depends on which sanctioning body runs it, I run with HSR with a 2002, SVRA won't let you run newer than a 97 corvette.

speaking of eligibility do you have a racing license? You`ll need one of those in addition to some experience. If "General Racing ltd" is running the Lime Rock event then probably nothing newer than `67 UNLESS your racing in the IMSA class then racing any Corvette would be like taking a dull knife to a gun fight. If you want to race with the rest of the Corvettes, Camaros, AC Cobras, Mustangs and Jaguars in SVRA the cutoff is the end of `72 unless you want to be outclassed with a Corvette in group 10 racing which is the slicks, wings and tube frame car class, almost the same with HSR, the newer Corvettes race with the GTP cars and the Porsches, a Corvette really doesn`t have a chance, an early (C-2/C-3) Corvette in HSR would race in gr-5 and do pretty well depending on how much money your willing to invest of course. I don`t think General Racing LTD will allow it (too new) but you could race the red/white car below in HSR as-is or run up front in SVRA if you put an aluminum big block in it (my SB is not SVRA approved), it`s won six group-6 races overall at Road America and is currently for sale.

PS: to answer your other question the C-2 gets light in the front end at high speed where the C-3 is much more aerodynamic....
