Default A fond farewell...

38 years after she first hit the track in anger, 18 years in our family, 6 years of rebuilds, and 2 years of playing fantasy race car driver, we have sold our girl.

I wanted to say thank you to all the folks on the forum who have given input and to the many friends we have made along the way.

I will continue to attend racing events and photograph the cars we love but somehow I already know it won't be quite the same without her.

This morning, Saturday, she left Watkins Glen headed to Hudson Historics where she will be gone through and prepped for a new driver, more talented and experienced than I. She's going to a great home where she will be raced the way she deserves in SVRA, HSR, and other venues. I look forward to hearing her angry growl again and hope that if any of you see her on the track you will smile and say "damn ya".

Thanks friends it's been the most fun an old man could have

Default You have my deepest sympathy

David,
Giving up that wide body was a difficult thing to experience. I hope you have another ready to ease the pain. If Paul Newman can race into his 80's so can you. What's next for you?

David,
Sorry to hear her go!

But, you did one hell of a job restoring that car to give it a second chance at life.

She will fit right in at HSR/SVRA and hope to hear that roar again too.

I don't think it's ever easy to let one go, but at least you know that the new owner is going to love owning/driving her just as much as you did

It's gone to a good home. Congrats and condolences.

I love seeing how much the engine is offset to the right in that pic, to balance the car/driver.

Thanks friends, the engine was set back 12", lowered 4' and set to the right 4.5"'.
Hopefully I'll get to crew for her next year in real races
