Light rain predicted for Sunday morning. Clouds in the afternoon.
Temp 59º F. Winds 13-16 mph.
Congratulations to Mr Bourdais for his 1:46.777 qualifying time to
end the first session Saturday at the top of the leader board. He
qualified 9th for the race.
Used to be during Michael Schumacher's era there were threads
launched days in advance of each race. Interest seems to be
lacking now.

Spa has always been one of my favorite F1 race weekends. Do wish they'd show more in-car of Pouhan. What a corner! Rumors of this classic track being significantly altered from its current configuration are sickening.
And, yes, a big WELL DONE to Seabass. Wasn't all that long ago the FIA essentially told him his experience in CART didn't count towards earning a superlicense.
FWIW, I was watching F1 long before Shuey, and remain as interested as ever. No other form of auto racing has ever come close in my book. Perhaps interest seems to have waned here because there's so many F1 related sites/forums out there on the interweb...

Darn, so close for Mr. Bourdais.
I am sure many things were on his mind but I like to think that
making a strong drive for Paul Newman was a key motivator.
He did well, but the fairy tale ending was not meant to be.

Glad a I got up to watch this one, amazing finish. Still, Seabass got into the points which
while not what might have been, is still a good result. Wish HK would have finished and
the team race would be closer yet. Hope the stewards don't get too involved at this point.

I was taken aback to hear the remarks suggesting Alonso in a seat
at Ferrari, teamed with Mr Kubica.
If that happens, it would be fitting if Massa moved to join Hamilton
at McLaren. It would be entertaining to watch the two pops sitting
beside each other as their offspring cleaned up whilst Alonso wrought
havoc and chaos upon Ferrari by brake-checking Kubica and generally
behaving badly.

He couldnt have done it any more text book than that. It seems from comments that F instigated the whole thing because their drivers got beat.
Of course we all know FIA starts with Ferrari.

I thought it was racing. He backed off after the intial chicane off, then went right on Kimis tail. So where did he get an illegal advantage. I am confused, and I erased the race already.

I think this explains it. Hamilton is not dumb, but he isnt saying positively what he did was right/wrong.

This is just more confirmation for me that Ferrari is running the FIA and not the other way around. Lewis let Kimi by and then regained the lead. Kimi even had a second chance when Lewis was run off the track because of lapped traffic and Kimi then lost it on his own.

Just speculating here, so no flames please.
The only thing I can imagine is that the stewards may have felt Hamilton wouldn't have run as quick a segment (despite giving way to Kimi) had he not clipped the chicane and thus wouldn't have been in position to overtake at La Source, bearing in mind that an "advantage" can be gained on the way up to going off course as much as by subsequently cutting a corner.
Again, just speculating...
