Default Home Again - Looking for Track Days in PNW

Hey all,
Just a quick note to let everyone know that I'm back from deployment, have essentially a brand new SCCA T1 Corvette in my trailer courtesy of a full rebuild of my wreck by Phoenix Performance and am looking for an opportunity to go play with it. Anyone have any leads on any track days in the PNW in Sept or Oct?

FYI, my SCCA license has expired due mostly to deployments. My goal for this fall is to get it renewed and back up to National status so I can run a full season in 2009. My current sea duty has been extended a year to next summer, but I'll likely deploy in the winter and then be able to race next spring and summer. Probably will move to DC area next summer for shore duty. Can't wait to have VIR in my back yard.

Welcome back! I might have to pick your brain on balancing racing and the military sometime since Ill be dealing with the usual deployments after I get all trained up.

G/L with the new car! I just barely have my foot in the door with SM.

You just missed 2 great days at Spokane.
Cascade has HPDEs at Portland on Friday, and also in October.

All,
Thanks for the warm welcome back.

Last C5,
Thanks for the local info. Many of those look to be in the middle of the week which are hard for me, but many on the weekends. Appreciate it!

Thanks, didn't take many after I got it back from Phoenix Performance and put it away for storage before deploying.

Brad,

First thing, thank you for your service! As a nation we ask a lot from the few.

Pacific Raceway:

Sept 25 (Thursday) - BMW
Sept 26 (Friday) - ICSCC Test and Tune
Sept 27 & 28 - ICSCC Race
Oct 10 (Friday) - PCA

I will be instructing for the BMW & PCA events, testing two cars at the T&T and racing a BMW Pro-3. I might be able to help get you in these events. Send a PM if interested!

Joe,
Just saw your other post. Extremely happy to see how well your season went. Great way to bounce back after the rough end to last year.

Dean,
Interestingly, spent quite a bit of time last night searching the local car club internet sites and found all the events you listed. Had never heard of the ICSCC until last night. I'm tempted to go down to PIR this weekend and watch their race to get a feel for the group.

Can't make any of the Sept weekend events, but I may be able to get to the Oct 10th event. I might need your help getting in that one. I'll be in touch.

Welcome back Commander Neff! Thanks for your continuing service to our country.

Your car looks great! Phoenix did a helluva job putting it back together.

Thanks X! The car really does look great. Now if I can find a DE that matches my schedule so I can take it out and play with it.

BRAD!!!!

Good to have you back. I guess a trip to Seattle for COC ceremony is not going to happen in November, but next summer? Wow, that seems like a long tour.

If you happen to be traveling this way, I can get you out onto either Beaverun or Nelson Ledges in my car.

David,
Yet again, thanks for another generous offer. Unfortunately, my SCCA license has expired since I wasn't able to get on the track this spring/summer due to my deployment. I need to work on attempting to renew it...

As for the CoC, yep, next July is pretty firm at this point. I'll let you know as that firms up.

Welcome back, thank you and your crew for keeping us safe. Sounds like a good news, bad news story. Are you going to be driving a desk in the Pentagon ? The bad news is having to hang out in DC with all the traffic, the good news is that the brand new NJMP is not very far and I am sure that you will get a promotion so you can better afford new tires etc. If you come up to NHMS, dinner is on me and you have a C6Z to practice with!
Thanks again,
Gary

Welcome home Brad!

I know it is a bit of a drive, but it would be great to see you at one of the SCCA races in California. We race all year 'round. We have double regionals in late October, November and a double national opening the year at California Speedway, aka AAA Speedway in January.

Mike, Gary,
Thanks for the kind words and welcome home. DC is a good news, bad news story, but I volunteered to go there, so I must think the good outweighs the bad.
Actually, I'll probably end up at the Navy Yard vice the Pentagon.

Oli,
I've been eyeing those Cali races. If I can get a Regional License I may try to get down to one or more.

If I can get moved up to Oregon like we're planning, i'll happily head down with you and help you out at the track.
