Default Cooling Ducts

Looking for feedback on the Quantum Brake Duct kit for C6Z. Presently looking at their race kit package. Install/Race problems if any?? Appreciate all input.

I have their kit on my C6 (not Z) but I think its about the same thing the C6 you have to dremel out the fender liners a bit and put the C6Z initial ducts in there first.

Pretty easy install. Make sure you have a torx T50 for the hub bolts.

1. Remove caliper bracket with caliper attached, tie caliper up on upper suspension arm

2. Remove rotor

3. Dremel off the bracket which holds the brake sensor wire connectors (you relocate the wire connectors to the duct fitting)

4. Remove top two hub bolts, place duct fitting, replace bolts, torque them to I think 96 lb-ft

5. Add duct work (a bit of a pain on the Z06 fender duct side, easy on the Quantum part though)

When finished it should look like this:

Ducts seem to work fine my rotors held up fine after 2 days at Road America, instructor run group, but street tires... YMMV

Mike

BR,

couple questions:

Is the Z06 duct side 2.5" and the Quantum duct fitting 3"? I believe the duct is also 3", if so how did you secure it to the Z06 duct?

Any rub on the flexible duct tubing when tires are fully turned?

thanks for the informative post.

It looks like your rotor is backwards, did they do that on the C6 as well as the C6Z?

Sadly, they did. One rotor, 2 sides...

The Z06 duct side was a pain in the butt, you bend the spring wire of the duct a bit to get it cinched up on the duct end, and use 4 nylon tie wraps to hold it in place. Diameter on both ends is the same, 2 1/2 or 3
" I don't recall exactly. The duct has a little slack in it when the steering is straight ahead, at full lock mine rubs a bit on one side but that is likely because of too much duct material in there.

As for the rotor, yeah it does look like its backwards but that is how it came? I think replacement rotors are like $80 a piece so I can live with that for now... But that is pretty lame.

3.25" ducting should fit right over the OEM extensions. That's what I run
