Beat Steve Burger in his own car.
Steve, Joan and I ran my '08 Z today, but after 2 runs, the rear alignment got out of whack and the rear left squeaks?
The three of us switched back to Steve's car and I beat him.
To his credit, he ran 7/10ths faster on his best run in his car, but coned.
When we ran my car, I was 1.1 seconds faster but went on the wrong side of the cone.
C6Z was definitely faster than C5Z over the last 2 days.
Steve ran identical 30.5 laps on the test-n-tune on Saturday in both cars.
HIS CAR FEELS GREAT.
If he can make my car feel like his, we are definitely going to be onto something.
FWIW, this was our first outing with the Pfadt Inverted Sport Shocks.

Keep practicing for the Dixie Tour---
Better yet----go and get a real Super Stock car like a C5Z06---
I want you to have a chance in Dixie.

What did you do to your alignment ?

Yeah, I ran with ER down south in Homestead weather sucked in Homestead, but it was still fun.
It always is.
Stay Fast
but not faster than me. ("me" sounded better, but I wonder if "I" is grammatically correct)

Great to hear people are still able to do the cone dance.... I hate PA for that reason alone....
See you guys in Dixie

It was 28 yesterday AM and 34 this morning... going UP TO 48 tomorrow...
Cones are brutally hard in this weather... no way an event would work here without carnage to cars.

A '08 Z at the NCM Road America event hit a tire wall. When they started checking for a cause they found that the nuts on the left side were about to fall off and the right side were loose also.

Existing torque was only about 60 ft lbs. Farmer recommends 107.
This clearly explains why this happened numerous times in my '08 Z and my '05 Z51. Both shops were WAY shy on tightening the bolts.
Car is now re-aligned and the squeak is very clearly gone. Fortunately the shop fixed it for free.
I was definitely getting sick of the rear toe getting knocked to hell after each event. With race rubber and tight radius turns, you're subjecting the car to some extreme forces.

Figured it out today. Took the car back to the alignment shop. Thanks to DavidFarmerStuff.com, I was able to get the torque settings for the camber bolts.

HUGE weight off my shoulders.
It was fun and a great learning experience to run Steve's car. It felt SO GOOD. Now I have "seat of the pants" feel for what my car should become over time.
And I will always be faster than you at autocross. Can't wait to kick your azz on the track.
BTW, I can still see the $10 Bill you defaced. Hanging on my tack board.

wow... great to hear you got to the bottom of that, Craig. That would frustrate me for sure.
