Rear 305's rubbing in inner fender - Pics
So what's the deal here? I hear about guys running 315's all the time, but look what I found after running at Road Atlanta last weekend. I'm running 305/30/18 V710's on stock speedlines and stock suspension on my 2003 ZO6. It only happened on the drivers side so obviously the left side of the car was loaded more than the right. Has anyone seen this happen before?

Damn. I was thinking you guys were going to try and convince me to buy some kind of super high spring rate upgrade. I'm pretty easily persuaded ya know.

It seems like the assembly fixture was off a little bit on the C5 Z06. The rear subframe is a little bit to the right on most cars. You can raise the car on the frame, loosen the 4 big nuts holding the sub frame on, then pry it over while someone tightens the nuts down. Some autoxers want every last bit of camber so they do this to even out the max camber on both sides. You just have to get an alignment after. I gained .1 or .2 degrees of camber.

My A3SO4s did rub w/1 deg. neg camber, on stock C5 wheels. Used 1/8" fabricated aluminum wheel spacer which still allows hub to engage wheels. i have one spacer left(not sure what happened to the other.)
Now I run 315s on 17" ZR1 wheels all around and do not experience rubbing.

Yep.
What's odd is that I ran just as hard and just as fast at the same track this summer on a set of 305/35/18's and I didn't have this problem. The 30 series tires I used last weekend are smaller in diameter so I can't understand why it's happening now.

just remove the liners when they disentigrate. As long as they aren't eating to the inner tub (the fiberglass part BEHIND the plastic liner), no harm is being done.
