Some 17" wheels have more clearance than others so if someone states their 17" wheels clear yours may not. Might be time to move up to 18"

I am asking about the size difference between C5 and base C6 calipers.

Are the pistons the same size? I have C5 stainless that I would want to transfer to c6. For the front.

Yes, pistons are the same. Do you by chance have a C5 and C6 caliper in front of you to measure if one is taller than the other?

The C6 Z51 rear calipers have smaller pistons than the C5 and C6 base do so I would rule that out. On the smaller rotor you will lose some brake torque.

Fronts and rear/C6 base rear should all be the same aside from caliper structure although idk if they fit each others brackets.

C6 Base front rotors at least from GM went to a heavier rotor that uses pillar vanes and more mass. (C5 front rotors are curved vane)

I could measure the C5 oem piston but no c6. I didn't think it would say, but just looked at Drm and it says for fronts "Stainless Steel Pistons will fit C5 base, Z51, Z06 and also C6 base, Z51"

All of the front pistons should be 40.5mm diameter.

The rears are 45 mm sans the C6Z51 which are 42mm.
