Well, I just dyno'ed 2 different Koni's and the fronts were way off, the rears OK. You can get Koni's to work very well. I drove a Griggs prepared Mustang at Sebring and it was very good indeed.

Thanks very much for the info. This is what i was looking to do.I like the idea of the dbl adj shocks.
Arent those dbl adj proma star coil over shocks?
Would ddr-4855 be the number?

And those are the same springs used on the bilstein coilovers correct?A 2.5" hyperco?

No, these are specific to VanSteel. I insisted that each and every one be dyno tested, UPSIDE down! Why upside down? These are a twin tube bypass shock and I found that they were not bleeding all the air out when we dyno'ed some samples. If they are not bled as well as a brake, they will cavitate, and really suck upside down (literally). This way, with the **** set in the middle of the range, it is obvious on the dyno if they are good or not, even when not used upside down. This is new to QA-1 and specific to Vansteel. Then you have to add the mounts, especially on the lower rear on C4's.

Oh,i see.
Well i guess there is only one problem left.
I see these too are fpr 89 and up.
Is this because the upper front shock mount and upper rear shock mount?
That is the only difference from an 87 to later years rite?

Call Paul at VanSteel as to availability for earlier C4's. The difference I am aware of is the early ones have a clevis upper rear but the 89 up have a 3 hole plate that the new Hardbar clevis goes into.

OK,Thanks.Ill give him a call.
One last question, are these springs narrower then the ones people used to use with a qa1 coilover that had problems with the springs being too wide.
These look thinner, like the ones used in the drm bilstein kits.
Are they the same size as those?
Thanks for all the help!!!

I think that they are 2.25 ID not 2.5 (not 100% on that). When you use a Bilstein with a sleeve, you have to use a 2.5 ID spring. When the body is threaded, you do not have the sleeve so you can use 2.25 inch like we do on the Penskes. The 2.25 gives you clearance that you really need.

Nice,thats what i was hoping!!!
Why were the springs used on the qa1 coilovers in the past so wide?
Those were threaded bodies too.
Is it just the qa1 springs that are so wide?

Will be keeping an eye on this post. This looks like the kit that will fit my budget and play needs.
