Had this problem at NASA Summit Point so I replaced all the goodies and put in the new bleed line while I was there. I went to Nelson's for the National and low and behold, 1st qualifying lap sticks to the floor again. Ran the whole 40 minute race in 4th gear.

I have read the Ranger stuff, blead the snot out of it for 2 hours. Talked to everybody and their mother and the only thing I can do next is replace the whole clutch/flywheel assembly and put another lovely GM unit back in again.

If anyone has anymore ideas how to fix this, shoot me a PM, so I can get back out and play.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck Aaron. I'm fighting the same thing right now. I may try the QM 7.25" clutch in mine.

Mike,
I want SO BAD to convert my car to a full time ST2, but on the other hand, it is so nice to be able to run this car in both series and not have to change a thing except for a little weight.

I thrashed this car/clutch for the past 2 years and no problems, why now and that whole clutch assembly was new when I put the new crate motor in? Only had 2 NCCC events on it.

Sorry to vent all, Back to our regulary scheduled program.

Aaron
be sure when you put it in that you measure closely and see if you need to shim it. the spring holds the brearing out so you need to compress it and see how much room you have. every one of the clutches has a different stack height. I am thinking that the fingers may be pushing the bearing back under high rpm, so when you depress the clutch the first stroke is just refilling the bearing and there is no force to return it. usually you can pull the pedal up with your toe and the next stroke the clutch works fine. Just thinking out loud, i have had lots of clutch issues, and spent this spring setting them up on a mock motor and torque tube. feel free to call if you want to discuss it more.

Good luck.

I am with Mike.....there defineatly is a clearance problem. In reality what has probably occured is that the pressure plate prematurely "adjusted" removing the clearance that it needs. Even if you look at it there maybe enough clearance, but when the diaphram spring is under high rpm centrifigal (sp??) load , that relationship changes.

If he wants to keep it T1, that stock POS has to stay.......If it were mine that stock pressure plate would be long gone.....

This is Friday. It will be hard a heck for me to fly back in time to race on Saturday...but it can be done...so maybe.

I did this in 2006 for the "in-coming" ceremony. I took the red-eye from Seattle to Reagan and had my crew pick me up and drive me to Summit Point. I was dead tired for the Friday test day, but ended up doing pretty OK that day.

This time it would be much harder because there is no "cushion" day between travel and racing. But let's see how this plays out. The Navy has a way of changing everyone's plans without regard to those involved...
Lets see some pictures of the new graphics, from yopur Avator the car is looking sweet.

After a successful shakedown at Grattan of the extensive repairs to the car I'm there, Friday through Sunday. I'll be in PTA Saturday and Sunday. I guess TT on Friday?. That week is a mandatory week off work, gotta love the auto industry these days.

Rob's car just might run, tested with Matt's MAF on Tuesday and things look better. It's hard to say if it's fixed, but damn close to driveable. The plan is for him to be there representin' in July as well. That will definately be a record of C4's on track, let's see how many drive on to trailers Sunday night under their own power.

David, love the new graphics!

Matt, get a Carolina Clutch. Everyone I've talked to had bad things to say about McCleod, I've been running the same CC stage 3 since 2005.

John, need a pit crew Friday night?

Ken, any more track records to set next month?

Because the NASA region sponsoring this event does not post the entry list until a week before the event, I am compiling and maintaining a list of those who have indicated they will be there. It will be posted on the TCC forum and in this Corvette Forum thread. I will update it at least weekly if there are additions, and it will be discontinued when the entry list is available. This information is compiled from Corvette Forum postings, TCC forum postings, and TCC communications. Based on current data, there are 9 intending to be there. The specifics are below.

Don't forget to add Geff (GAS) to ST2 / TTS.

It looks like I will come out and give the T1 car a run in HPDE3 as well.
Should be a great turnout and a good time!!
Come on Wally do you really want to miss this one??
