C5 Track Car \ HPDE Conversion: What I have learned!

No clue, but the same information here for the C5 is basically the same for the C5 - C5Z - C6 - C6Z at its core. The ZR1 is a different animal when it comes to parts. Brakes, bushings, shocks, etc are even interchangable in some cases between all these models. And Even if a part number changes slightly the companies and types of products are the same in their implementation on all of these platforms.

Drifting
I've followed much of your advice and have done a 2-day driver training course at the track after addressing the 'must do' items. My first timed SoloSprint race at the track is this weekend, and I'm pretty jazzed to say the least.

Good Luck! Be safe & thanks for the kind words! I keep updating this as I learn as well. Right now I'm tracking down a gremlin in the electrical system that keeps telling me the brake fluid reservoir is low when its clearly not. Even though the sensor was replaced, the error won't go away. The more you mess with these things, the more issues you will have. Don't forget, time and money. Time and money. :-)
I've read over this thread many times while mentally preparing myself for getting my car track ready. Thanks again for the considerable effort it took to put this together, and to update it from time to time.

Melting Slicks
Somebody make this a sticky! OR at least link it in the FAQ.
Great info! I was wanting to attend a local HPDE, but learned that I'm very much NOT even close to ready for a track day in the Vette yet.

added a few things here and there, again. Main addition besides tires and brake fluid boiling points was the towing section. Even if you are an experienced guy, read this you might learn about the new "corvette" tow straps that save a ton of time!

Sorry Tony! For the record, as with several of my other posts and comments in the article: TONY aka AJG1915 is without a doubt the C5 Guru.
Has been, always will be... and without his help I would be stuck in one too many projects with my d-ck in my hand and not sure how to use it!

Hopefully you'll get the alignment done here soon and all will be good.
No guru, just learned the hard way like the rest of the guys on here through trial and error.
Maybe the next time on the lift we can grab some pictures to insert into the thread.
