Default 10/10ths Motorsports Training Race Starts (vid)

We had another couple of great rolling race starts in our advanced driver group this past week end at Putnam Park.

We will be working on including classroom time as well.

The race starts are for those advanced drivers and instructors who wish to participate. It is a opportunity that many drivers simply do not get the chance to experience.

My belief is that there is ONLY 1 way to learn advanced skills etc. and that is to be able to practice them on the track. We have much more exciting stuff to come next year.

The Novice and Intermediate groups also get to practice and hone their skills according to their experience level.

10-18-09 rolling race start:

We may even include other starts in the sessions such as TT starts, race starts and possibly even standing starts.....

That looks like a lot of fun and good practice. When my car is done I will join 10/10ths for some events!

I was surprised at how the noise level from surrounding vehicles makes it difficult to hear your own engine and when you may need to shift. I now understand the importance of shift lights. Actually, the track is not that narrow once you start jocking for position. It is amazing how intuitive some of the passing becomes. Of course, 10/10ths has always had an attentive group that is ever mindful of the other vehicles and the drivers' experience. The rolling starts do rock!

Had that problem at Mid Ohio, but it was the sound of my own engine bouncing off the wall Take the catalytic converter off and you'll be louder than the car next to you.

Looks like my car is shelved for the year, time to start building up good credits so I can race next year.

Just had to pay my gas bill from Utah

Nice video Bill.

The video doesn't do the start, or the first lap, justice.
It's like pictures of Vegas or the Grand Canyon - you have to actually see it.
For those of us who were non-participants it was great educational entertainment.
Thanks to all.

Wife has a Dinner thing on Dec 4th that she want's me to attend and when she didn't even balk at any of the events I went to this year including Utah I had to do the right thing.

So it looks like PRI and Mickey later that week.
