Default New Street Touring class in SCCA Solo for 2010?

Hey Gang,

I heard a rumor the other day that next year there will be an SCCA-Solo ST class that the Corvettes could run in (1900 cc limit for 2-seaters in S2). Anyone heard anything about this?

I'm looking to set up my DD '99 FRC for the Track, but would rather not get moved into Street Prepared for auto-x.

There is a new STR class for 2010, but the cars eligible include the Honda S2000, newer Miatas, Solstice/Sky, and other cars of that type. Some of the limitations are 9.0" max rim width and 255 max section width tires. No 'Vettes.

Yeah, I saw that class. Oh, well - I suppose it's SS to ASP for me!

I ran SS this season and will be moving to ASP next season due to CCW's and a race seat. Both fun classes.

Yeah, it's the improved brake ducting and seat for the track that will push me up the food chain. I guess that means I'll need some killer tires as well...

Dont forget about the new AS! All of the current AS cars will be moved into BS then the current BS and CS will be combined into CS.

Good news for you is that the FRC is expected to be one of the top cars to have in the new A stock class. So you can put on a larger front sway bar, shocks, a harness bar, and then swap your brake pads to a track pad for track days.

Should be a cheap competitive dual purpose car!

I didn't know about the shakeup with SS & AS - did that go through? Are the non Z C5's in AS now?

Yep. The FRC is expected to be a fast option, as it was pre-z06 in the AS class. Although the 40th Ann P car and the Boxster will offer some fast alternatives as well. I am sure one of the regular class jumpers with $$$ will find the overdog and dominate for a year or two, then get caught by other people with more talent, and jump ship

Lot of moving in the A-B-C stock classes this year.
