Default Corvette Racing GT2 2010

With the rules requiring that Corvette Racing down size the current power plant from 6 Liter down to a 5.5 who will be building the motors for Pratt & Miller. They have been Katech, but I have heard that they will now be GM.

They were running/testing at Road Atlanta a few days before thanksgiving. They ran a large portion of the day, sounded like a simulation shortened enduro.

I wondered what motor they were running/testing.

The last Katech engine in the Corvette Racing C6.R was at Le Mans in 2009. After that, GM Racing switched to GT2 and decided to build the engines in house. For the remainder for the 2009 season, they were allowed to run the LS7.R 7.0L because they were not in contention for the championship. For 2010, ALMS rules require a 5.5L.

Katech provided C5-R and LS7.R engines for Corvette Racing from 1997-2009 which powered the team to 9 ALMS manufacturers championships and 6 Le Mans wins. Katech continues to provide engines to teams running retired C6.R/C5-Rs in Europe such as Luc Alpahnd, Peka Racing, DKR Motorsports, Selleslagh Racing Team, and Phoenix Carsport.
