C4 front flares, another alternative
Before I learned that my buddy rasrboy had knockoffs of the GM front flares available I started a project to make some.
I had a laid off auto industry stylist/clay model maker who used to work with Larry Shinoda mock some up for me. I think they are more attractive than the GM ones as they flow into the hood lines better. We are within days of having the first parts from the mold.
Needless to say, this was not an inexpensive project and I planned to offer these parts for sale at a reasonable cost to help offset some of my upfront expense. I'm glad to read that there is interest in front flares on the other thread but not so happy that I didn't get the word out sooner so may have lost some sales. Oh well.
I'll post pictures as some as I have something to show but in the meantime I can tell you that I'm offering them for a very reasonable introduction price of $275 shipped to the lower 48.

I'm interested in the seeing the pictures! You may want to offer some for sale in the C4 parts section too. I'm not sure how many you can sell without getting into being a forum vendor though.

I could be interested.
As you know I run 335's on stock front fenders, but I'm getting away with it because my car's not lowered. I may change that since it's no longer my daily driver.

I was speaking asthetically...not confusing the two components..I just spent 15 minutes on the google machine looking for a picture of your ski-slope to no avail.....
A picture would be worth a thousand words, show us a picture again of that spoiler on the C3 car
Interested in seeing flare pictures, have you done anything for the rears....I knwo a cerain C4 in the family could use a little body work...( and has really big tires )

you could sell them through another vendor here and on other forums which may be better for a small quantity item. Try GRM or LGM

This is version 1.0 at it's innaugural 7/20/91 at the Pro Solo in Pontiac, MI, 3000 words worth, before the outhouse look got added
I recall a picture of that in North American Pylon shortly after Nationals that year.
I have not done anything for rears. I will mold in the GS version or look at adapting these.

Hard to believe this was 18+ years ago. You're only 21, right Danny?
So here's some history of the "notawing". Just stop if you are not interested in a story. Credit to Mary for spending hours to dig up these old photos.
Andy Franco, another BSP driver from Texas and friend? of Tommy Saunders told me early in the season that the winner at Nationals would have a 2 foot tall spoiler, hinting that Tommy had one on his car at that time. OK, says me, I'm all in. The result is what you see above.
And now, the rest of the story:
When word got back to Tommy, turns out that his spoiler was not really 2 feet tall so he set about to meet the target. Notice the addition to his original spoiler.
See that graphic top center? We were at WAR
Also notice in the above photos how bland that panel was from the rear. It needed some character, so............
The outhouse theme was created. We in BSP were so full of it.
And the rest of the rest of the story is that the "doors" finished 1-2 that year, however, in the Pro Solo that followed Nationals I removed the "notawing" for Sunday runs and went faster, so did they work???????
Well, you could feel both the positive and negative effects.
It was in 1992 that the spoiler rule height limit was established in the SCCA Solo rules as a result of the petition that Tommy and I circulated in grid at that event.

Seems like forever, but here are some shots in progress.
With some slight customization, these could be adapted to the rear as well.

Those look good! I like how they mold in. How much extra clearance does it give? I take it you cut out the factory flare and replaced it?

They quite easily cover and clear the 315/17 Hoosier's on 11.5 wheels that are currently on the car. The car had made it's own clearance to the hood and these give additional space.
They were sized on my other car that has 25.0 x 12.0-16 Hoosier slicks on 12" wheels. They give clearance on that car and are "tuneable" for how much top side coverage. I chose to not fully cover the top of that tire. They will be made with a much longer top side that when left in place pushes the flare further out so I could cover that tire if I chose to.. There is a trim line in the mold to make them just like these which will cover almost any size tire.

Not unless there is a big demand. As I said. this was an expensive endeavor and I'm not sure the demand for the extensions is big enough. I've also run 335's on 12" wheels without that problem so I think you need some negavie wheel spacers
I do have the first set of flares we made that do not taper into the body as nicely as these which would be suited to mating to some extensions should you want to try something with them. The are best described as bodacious.
