What Wheels for a Trackday/Race C5?
Over the winter I have been converting my '99 to a full time track car and to possibly run in NASA ST2. The WtW depends on if I can make the time commitment, not likely this year but probably next year.
Now it's time to buy wheels. I run a square setup. I have a set (4) of 18x10.5 w/58mm offset magnesium alloy wheels (very light) I have been running but last Oct. when I hit the wall at WG one of them was bent. I haven't had any luck finding the manufacture so I have decided to buy new wheels and use these for rain tires.
I usually run Hoosier/Goodyear 280/640 18 GT scrubs from John B.
These are around a 300/35-18 in street tire sizes.
I have been seriously looking at the CCW C10 Corsairs in an 18x10.5 (22lbs)
I have also considered Forgeline, Fiske, Enkei Racing, BBS
Some things I would like to get some input or perspective on before I spend the bucks,
1) What is the best offset to get? I have heard that it helps turn in to have a 1" wider track on the front. I have spacers to do get the wider track but what would be the recommended offset to start with so they fit under the fenders?
2) What are the weights of any other good 18x10.5 wheels? I know the factory wheel weights
3) What is the best bang for the money? The Enkei Racing wheels NT03+M are only $286 each and weigh 21lbs.
Any help, insight or advice is greatly appreciated

If I was going to spend a little more $, I'd get some CCW Corsairs.

If you're going to run wheel to wheel a good 3-piece is the way to go. (CCW classics come to mind) This way if you make a little contact you can replace the outer ring instead of the whole wheel. Obviously no on plans on contact but if it does happen it's better to but an outer than a whole wheel.
