Best race seats for big man?
I think my butt's too big for them!
Here are my stats: I'm 6'4", 240lbs in race trim; my hips are 38" around. I currently run the stock coupe seats, and while they are comfortable, I still find myself bracing with my left leg. After 30min. sessions, I can barely bend my knee it's so sore. I need to find seats that will fit my rather ample dimensions!
My father's not so tall/wide, but he's close. What do the wise forum members recommend? I want to be able to remove the stockers and bolt in the racers for ease of swap.

In my C4 I use the FX1 Pro by Corbeau. I too am 6'2" and around 250lbs and its a "snug" fit but its not bad. I can drive it everyday to work.

someone was having a sale on the Corbeau's; need to look that one up. Thanks! They come with the seat mounts, or did you order those separately?
Here's what I found so far on Corbeau:
http://us-dc1-order.store.yahoo.net/...onId=ysco.cart
Under a grand(w/out shipping) for the whole kit; not bad!

I'm not so sure the FX1 Pros are what you want ... I think you might need the FX1's
I have the FX1 pros and I just fit @ 6'1 200lbs 34-35"
You get an extra 1 1/2" with the FX1's. Im not sure how they fit in the car but Im pretty positive other guys on here have the FX1's in a C5.

I ordered the sliders seperate but then sold them cause it made the seat too tall. Mine are bolted to the floor. Again that is a C4 application.

Kirkey times three ... I'm 6'0" 280 ... a lot of that weight is in the shoulders and thighs, but not anywhere near all of it, unfortunately ;-) ... 18" Kirkey road race seat fits me very comfortably, but to fit the 18" seat in a C5, the seat/shoulderbelt spool has to come out. Sounds like you should fit a 17" seat easily, which will bolt in with the stock seatbelt in place. If you go with any aluminum seat, though, it will need a back brace. The carbon fiber and fiberglass ones do not.

Kirkey is deep and will hold you in place. Measure the width of you butt by sitting and putting something like bookends (cement blocks or wood crates) snug on each side of your hips. Then get up and measure the width..

Wow, I see this isn't as easy a proposition as I thought. I'm using a B-K harness bar with 5-pt Crowe harness as well. Thanks for the replies fellas, I'll keep doing my homework!

Sparco Evo II (or XL). FIA approved. Hardbar and LG have the brackets.
I'm 6'3" 250lbs and it fits me fine. Most seats are way too narrow.
I even take the seat padding out for heats.....so the wheels and suspension become 1 with my butt.

If you sit an aluminum seat right on the floor, you will literally be ON THE FLOOR. If anything will give you room, this will. They also do custom seats, so it might be worth calling them.
Also, there is a guy out west that literally sits on the FLOOR of his car. He made up some side and leg bolsters, as well as a simple pad to sit on, and he just uses the floor as a seat.

Im looking at this same seat for my C5Z, I'm 6' 1" and 200 lbs. How tight is the fit in the C5? Should it mount up ok with the Pfadt kit and no sliders?
