Is USF1 folding?

Looks bad hope he didn't quit SpeedTV job! No clue how they could get that far and have the sponsor pull out I think they need a better lawyer. I guess Utube had a separate corp and would just fold it up anyway.

A recent report out of Spain suggests that the USF1 team won't make it to the starting grid in Bahrain and that the team's chances of making it to the next two races are in question, putting the entire season in jeopardy. To make matters worse, rumors are circulating that one of the team's principle backers – YouTube founder Chad Hurley – has pulled his support from the Formula One upstart and that Brian Bonner, a former IndyCar driver and the team's head of business development, is no longer working for the firm, taking a co-director position at B4 Marketing.
It's been some time since we've heard any word from the team, beyond the announcement that Argentinian touring car driver Jose Maria Lopez has been tapped to handle driving duties. The lack of a second driver, along with rumblings that former YouTuber Hurley is considering backing the Campos team or Stefan GP doesn't help matters. And to muddy the waters further, the USF1's headquarters are apparently up for sale, suggesting something's rotten in Denmark Charlotte, and validating Bernie Eccelstone's earlier predictions about the team's troubles. Thanks for the tip Adam.

I hope they don't fold...a former co-worker went to work there in December, and I'd hate to think he left, only to have the job disappear. The missed payroll was bad enough, but no payroll would be worse.
As for the building, it was for sale before USF1 leased it, and it's being advertised as having an F1 team as a renter. http://www.charlottecpe.com/propertyView.cfm?PID=21321

FWIW:

Adam's been around a long time. This puts it to the point for me where I believe it is over, and will eat a little crow if not. Sure hate it for all involved.

Former Vendor
It sounds to me like Hurley was all in on them and they didn't live up to their end of the agreement. I'm sure I wasn't alone in thinking something was a little off in the videos on USF1's site (5 people sent to the UK to watch a CF piece get destroyed).

Now there are wild rumors that Campos Meta and USF1 will merge/buy out one or the other. This is silly season before the season even starts

I've heard that too, but it makes me wonder: what could USF1 have that Campos needs? Car? Nope. Drivers? Nope. Facilities? No again. I could see where Campos would want to be buddies with Chad Hurley, but that's hardly a merger.
