MOTEC ECU + stock ABS
If I go MOTEC ECU and deinstall the stock ECU and BCM to do so, will I have a chance to keep the ABS working?
What yould I need to take care of ?
I hope anyone can help me on that.

Motec?
I've dealt with some Motec stuff, it ain't cheap that for sure!
depending on the model, you can get whatever you want including ABS.
You may need to keep the stock ECU piggy backed in if you want to keep the stock dash running though.

I will not use the stock dash anymore........I´ll install a digial dash, connected to the MOTEC ECU.
I just need to know if the ABS still works with the stock ECU and BCM removed, as the ABS ECU connects to the BCM or ECU, as far as I remember.

What's the Motec offering that the stock ECU isn't? I've heard nothing but good about the stock ECUs and their programability... coming from a camp that loves Motec, Autronic, etc.

Cannot use ignition cut on sequential gearbox on stock ECU.
More tables on the Motec to tune a ITB setup better.
Lot´s of things for a racecar, that the stock ECU just cannot do...

If you can run ABS, and money isnt an issue, run the bosch race ABS. It needs inputs, but nothing like the stock ABS. As you begin to neuter the control modules from the stock system, things become unhappy.
You will need the Active 09+ sensors for that system.

Thanks! I know the Motec can sing & dance but was just curious what was taking you there.

I doubt they offer a plug and play ECU like the EVOs and Supras. If that WAS the case, it would be 4500-5500.
The biggest part, is making looms and getting everything to work right.
Custom Motec setup would run 12-25K, or more. It all depends on how radical you want to go.

Money is always an issue, but I try to not shortcut on anything.
I don´t have an idea what such a setup would cost...
Thanks.

Here is a link to the Bosch Motorsports - ABS M4 Kit
List price is 5890 euro; or $7995 USD (for the cheap kit with the OEM connectors; autosport option increases the price further)
While that sounds like alot, it is a full-motorsports ABS system with a 12-position adjustable switch to dial in system severity based on longitudinal tire grip, aero loading, and track surface.
If you want the best commercially available ABS system; that is it.

Louis @ LG Motorsports has talked to me in the past regarding the Bosch Motorsports setup.
