Been using CDS most recently and we love it. We have the pro version and a lot of channels on the box and the configurability is excellent.
A friend has a pi system straight out of an Indy lights car and I don't even like it as much.

I really like the AiM. I really recommend you download all the free trial analysis software and base your choice on your ability to make sense of the software, the second thing is pick a system that somebody local to you also has that's willing to share data. That's way more important than who has the most accurate GPS or prettiest dash.

Currently have Traqmate with Chase Cam in the C5 Z06 and the C6 Z51, I have been happy with them but if I was to do it again I'd seriously look at a Race-Keeper setup. I only do DE's with the cars. YMMV

That was why we went CDS. There was a lot more information available there to feed back into suspension simulations and to the engineer and lots of room for growing more sensors as we refine the car more.
My first racecar had an aim system in it. For the money, I don't think there is anything better.

It was a decision between the traqmate and the micro pod sport from RLC I chose the RLC micro pod sport. Do a side by side for yourself. As I stated in my PM to you. If you need a further explanation of the system I will be glad to put you in contact with right person.

Around here there are a couple guys running MaxQ -- it is pretty simple to use and runs on a number of platforms. I use TrackVision to make pretty videos.

I use Racelogic Performance Box (about $750)
Good but very limited I'm afraid
I really only use it as a lap timer as I get the read out on every lap in the car
I do want to change to something that will give me a dashboard output such that I can monitor RPM, oil pressures, temperatures etc on the playback at home

other: Race Technology DL-1. I give their analysis software a slight edge over comparably priced systems.
If looking to purchase, I give great preference to the system which allows you to trade/overlay data with someone locally.
