the 8.1 is the best gas motor tow vehicle you'll ever get. gm stopped making them in the suburban and they stopped making deisels. If someone paid me 17k I'd sell my 8.1 and buy a diesel pickup. I'd buy a diesel suburban in a heartbeat. I wouldn't buy a new 6.2. They say it is a good tower but not in my experience vs the 8.1
