It saddens me to inform the forum that Frank Gonzalez passed away this afternoon from a heart attack.
When I learn more information regarding any arrangements I'll post them here.
God Speed my friend.

It is with great pain I share with you all and deeply saddened to announce the passing of a dearest friend to us all, forum member Frank Gonzalez. One of Frank's best friends Steve Landstra who is busy abroad right now, made a great effort in letting me know so this is in effect his post and I'm sure he'll chime in.
Frank was one of the most unselfish people I knew. He was the first guy to pick up a wrench and help a fellow track rat even if it meant missing his own track time. His assistance went beyond the track and was always there for anybody who needed a shoulder to lean on, or an ear to chew. He was an ambassador to not only Corvette, but in supporting America. His driving skills were among the best and any student who had Frank as an instructor surely walked away a safer driver.
Frank and Ole Yeller #97 showed Z06 owners what a virtual bone stock car could accomplish (shocks and tires) and made us all proud.
We would like to donate a brick in his memory, details forthcoming.
We lost one great man today!
His family is in my prayers.

Thanks Mike for posting and for the call earlier.
As you mentioned Frank was an awesome guy! He was always willing to lend a hand to fellow drivers and always willing to share his experiences. I will never forget his stories that he would tell and the bench racing at the end of an awesome day of track time. His smile was contagious as well as his laugh.
I will cherish the "Garage Mahal" towel that he gave me at the first Katech Track Attack.
We will miss you Frank, thanks for the memories!

RIP Frank, you were a great man and a friend to many!
Sympathy to your family and all your dearest friends.
He was an inspiration to what a z can clearly do without many mods on the road track when i 1st met him at track attack last May

My heart sank a bit when I read this, as Frank was one of my first instructors. He'd given me one of the best compliments I've had and I was looking forward to him riding shotgun again to show I had improved on the things he wanted me to work on. On the way out, heading for home, I stopped to go shake his hand and thank him one more time; I'm glad I did.
My prayers are with him and his family.

Very Sad! Frank and I grided next to each other at Nationals for 2 years with Steve. A real nice guy willing to share to everyone! My prayers are for his family tonight!

Very sad news indeed.
I learned a lot from Frank over the last few years and I will surely miss not being able to ask him for advice on and off the track.
RIP Frank and my condolences to his family.
