Default Vette vs GT3 at Nurburgring video

I stole this video from Bx Goat on the C6 Z06 board because it's a great video, and it demonstrates the difference between "catching" a competitor, and "Overtaking".
SORRY!!! That link did not work. Please go to the C6 Z06 Forum via this link

and look at the link that BxGoat has posted.

Thanks for posting the video.

The Z06 driver needs a lot more seat time. His line is very poor, he is afraid of his car, and it seems that he was intimidated by the GT3.

Passing either side looks like fun. I agree pretty rough driven z.

What is with the writing on the track?

Graffiti?

Nice vid.

Nice vid.
Yes it is many place on the track. I agree the Z driver needs a lot more time in the seat and on that track. His line was way off. As for the video, it is just over 9 minutes and it takes forever to load. But worth it. The Nordschleife at Nuerburg is a great historic track, and to think anybody can take their car on it.

Two completely different videos. The first one the Z06 driver was an amateur. His line was way off. He turned in late missing the apex by a mile. Had he hit the marks the 996 would not have been that close.

This second video is great; only wish it was from the dash cam.

Hey Joel!

Didn't you go to Europe recently? Did you drive it when you were there?

I've spent numerous hours running it with PS2 & Gran Tourismo. My 'nads are insufficently sized to let me drive it in real life.

I wonder how long it would take to set up all the cones us HPDE guys would need? Actually the Z06 guy looked like he could have used some help on some of those entries.

Finspeed, thanks for posting that video. I'm an amateur:o

Falcon, sorry but I hadn't seen it, and thought it was a great illustration of how hard it is to overtake....thus the difference between DE and racing.

Oh, no need to be sorry, I just thought the video looked familiar. And I agree, setting up a pass is difficult at best, and impossible at worst. As you point out, that video shows it.

Jody,
I wish - I'd love to drive it!

I've followed F1 since I was a kid (early-mid 1960s is as far as my memory goes back)....God Bless Jimmy Clark.

Nurburgring and Spa are amazing. It's fantastic to see video of the Ring.
