I was think the same thing. Especially in the rain all it takes is one little shove in the rear quarter and away you go! Glad you were unscathed. Hate to see that happen, it's supposed to be fun and then we all go back to our day jobs.

the crazy thing is the two cars involved in the wreck are the blue GT1 corvette starting in 2nd and Jerry who started in 5th.
The red car that spun started in 4th. I started in third.
So as you can see I'm incredibly lucky to have missed that mess. I got a good jump at the start and cleared the second place car before the red car spun.

I appreciate the challenge, and the desire to be complete racer, and I realize if you race wheel to wheel your going to have damage and your likely to get wrecked at some time, but I have to be honest I would have a hard time running in the rain. Heck (mostly because I have to take the roof off) I don't even autocross in the rain. Hope they had track insurance.

OK.
This video shows exactly why I protested the driver of the red corvette. Unfortunately, the protest was not upheld due to lack of evidence. I do not feel the red corvette ever made contact with me, however, my video showed him advancing on my left and and I accelerated hoping to make it past what was inevitable. I hoped I had cleared the melee, however, that was not the case.
My video which is being held as evidence until the appeals process is complete shows a red corvette accelerating past me to my left counter steering and going into a spin and in the next second shows the rear of Richard Grants blue GT1 car entering my path of acceleration at which time I climb aboard his rear deck and become airborne.
1/10th of a second difference could have seen me entering the cockipit of the Blue Corvette with perhaps a different outcome.
As it was, I went airborne over the rear deck of Richard in the Blue GT1 Vette and I thought I was going over the concrete wall into the Pro pit area. I guess that's why the sub strap hurt my groin so much when I came down on my R. Front.:o
Good news is I'm OK and Debbie can sleep tonight. The car will be repaired when I am able to get it done and buy all the parts and panels.
I would like to thank all those who have contacted me for support and concern. Barry and Kathy Vincion, Debbie of course who is a real Trooper and Great Crew Chief, Bob Mayer and his Crew Sam and Peanut, Ed Meyer for his help dragging my car into the trailer. Chuck Yoder for a great VetteSport/YoderTool cage to keep me safe.
I'll post my video when it is returned!

Wow, Jerry, that probably hurt worse than it looked, and it looks BAD. Glad you're OK, and hope you get back as soon as finances allow.
(means more for threads like this) Have a good one,

Glad to hear you were o.k. Jerry and that everything is repairable.
Get that thing straitened out and we will see you in September. I'm looking forward to seeing the car in person.
