Default TCS No Comm?

Anyone ever see this? I had traced all the cables previously and everything looked good so I replaced the module. And of course, more no comm.

Anyone seen this before?

I had the same problem on my 02Z, TCS No Comm and HVAC No Comm.

I followed Bill Curlee's C5 Ignition Switch Repair instructions and it fixed my problem.

multiple error no comm is usually a loose ground, or a ground fault short on one wire.

Multiple? You mean multiple modules, or what? I only have one dead module that has been replaced. Grounds have been checked, harness has been checked, ignition switch cleaned.

Next step is to recheck the harness/grounds. But i suspect those are ok due to earlier investigation.

I think I'm going to end up sacrificing a goat here.

Why not check the serial data line to the module? If it was shorted you would get a No Com on all sorts of modules but if it is open you will get a No Com on the TCS.

Also the ground for the EBCM is G108 which is over by the battery. The ground on the frame rail near the EBCM is for the BPMV and not the EBCM electronics.

Bill -

I did previously check the serial line. But, like I said, I'll be checking everything again just in case I missed something. Man, I hate electrical gremlins.

Ok, checked/cleaned G108 (by the battery). Also checked G101 just in case. Both were good. Verified voltage at the module, and was getting 12.whatever between the A pin on the EBCM connector and G108/G101.

So I then checked pin #21 on the EBCM connector, the ABS/TCS class 2 serial data back to the #1 star connector by the BCM. That was had good continuity.

Wtf is next?

Realized i didn't check for power at the B pin at the EBCM. Thats the switched ignition.

Guess thats next.
